Curriculum Vitæ
The Slovenian soprano Janja Hvala first studied Defectology at the Faculty of Pedagogy in the University of Ljubljana. After first studying singing with Prof. Dorotea Spasić at the Middle School of Music, she entered the Ljubljana Academy of music, studying under Prof. Eva Houška, whence she graduated with Honours in December 2004. She is currently studying with the tenor Alexander Brown.
She won the Silver Award at the Slovenian National Singing Competition in the year 2000.
As a soloist she has appeared on stage with the Ljubljana Academy Symphony Orchestra, the Bohinj Symphonic Wind Band, the Ljubljana Opera Orchestra, the Slovenia Radio & Television Symphonic Orchestra, the SRTV Chamber Choir and on national Television in Slovenia and abroad.
She was especially honoured to have had the opportunity of singing for the King and Queen of Spain on their visit to Slovenia in July 2002.
